Alice Smith
Principal
Miss Alice began dancing at the age of two at The Centre Dance Academy. By twelve, she made her West End debut in Oliver!, and at sixteen, she began vocational training at KS Dance in Manchester before completing her Level 5 Diploma in Professional Dance at Tring Park School for the Performing Arts. During her training, she toured the UK as a soloist with Allegrodance in Les Sylphides and performed in theatres nationwide.
She holds her DDI Classical Ballet Teaching qualification as well as certification in Rambert Contemporary. Alice has served as Head of Dance at Downe House School on maternity cover, where her success in the role led to her appointment as the school’s permanent Choreographer in Residence. She has coached numerous young dancers for auditions and entry into vocational schools and has taught as a guest tutor for the Cecchetti Associates Scheme at Rambert School in London.
As a choreographer, Alice created work for the Cecchetti Scholars that was performed at the Royal Opera House, and she is currently choreographing for the Cecchetti Associates 2026 Gala.

Larraine Heaffey
Ballet Teacher
Miss Larraine trained at Stella Mann College, where she gained her Advanced RAD ballet, Associate and Licentiate teachers exams in National dance and Imperial ballet. Miss Larraine then joined Northwood Ballet School in 1973, where she was taught the Cecchetti Method by Jennifer Morgan and gained her Licenciate teaching qualification. In the early 90s, Miss Larraine established CentreStage School Of Dance, now known as The Centre Dance Academy, where she successfully entered children at all levels of examinations and coached many students on to vocational schools. She recently handed over the school to her former pupil, Alice Smith, but still remains a pillar of the school.
